The Polar Bear is the world's largest land carnivore, with males reaching over 1,500 pounds. Its hollow, transparent fur appears white and provides exceptional insulation against Arctic cold. Polar bears are strong swimmers and can travel hundreds of miles across sea ice in search of ringed seals.
