The Brush Mouse is a large-eared, long-tailed Peromyscus of rocky brushy habitats in the western United States and Mexico, frequently found in rocky outcrops and chaparral slopes. It is an agile climber that uses its long tail for balance when navigating boulder fields and scrub. Its large hind feet and tail give it excellent grip on uneven rocky substrates.
