The Big-eared Climbing Rat is a small, large-eared rodent of rocky tropical forests in Mexico and Central America, associated with limestone karst and rocky cliff habitats. It climbs among rock outcrops and cave entrances with agility, aided by its large eyes and ears for detecting predators at night. It is rarely observed and little studied.
