The American Mink is an adaptive semi-aquatic mustelid found across most of North America in habitats near water. Its luxurious pelt made it the target of large-scale commercial fur farming, and escaped farm mink have become invasive in parts of Europe. The mink is a capable swimmer that will dive after fish and also raid waterfowl nests along shorelines.
