The Atlantic White-sided Dolphin is a robust, energetic dolphin of the cold North Atlantic recognized by its yellow-ochre and white side patches. It forms large pods of dozens to hundreds that frequently associate with fin whales, humpbacks, and other dolphin species in rich feeding areas. Mass strandings involving hundreds of individuals have been recorded on Cape Cod beaches.
