Illustration of Mountain Coati (Nasuella olivacea)

The Mountain Coati is a small, rare procyonid of high-altitude cloud forests in the Andes and highland Central America. It is smaller and less social than the white-nosed coati, often found solitary in dense montane vegetation. Very little is known about its behavior and ecology due to its restricted habitat and shy demeanor.
