The Asian Lady Beetle was introduced from Asia for aphid biocontrol and has become the most abundant ladybug in many parts of North America, outcompeting native species. It is highly variable in color and spot pattern, ranging from pale yellow with no spots to deep orange-red with up to 19 spots. In autumn it invades homes in large numbers to overwinter, making it a nuisance pest.
