The Bronzed Tiger Beetle is the most commonly encountered tiger beetle in North America, with a bronzy-brown body and white marginal markings on its elytra. It inhabits sandy shores along rivers and lakes and is extremely fast, flying short distances ahead of approaching observers. It is active during the heat of the day when many other predators are sluggish.
