Peters's Woolly False Vampire Bat is one of the largest insectivorous-carnivorous bats in the Americas, capable of taking prey as large as small birds, frogs, and large beetles. It has large, oval ears and a long nose leaf that aid in detecting prey by passive listening. This bat roosts in hollow trees and caves in the tropical forests from Mexico to South America.
