The Two-lined Chestnut Borer is a slender, metallic buprestid beetle whose larvae tunnel under the bark of oaks and chestnuts, girdling branches and killing stressed trees. Adults are dark metallic green-bronze with two pale yellowish stripes on the elytra. It becomes a serious pest during and after droughts when trees are stressed and less able to resist infestation.
