Red Clover is a European perennial introduced to North America that has become one of the most abundant and ecologically important plants in disturbed habitats. As a nitrogen-fixer, it improves soil fertility. Its dense, fragrant flower heads are excellent nectar sources for long-tongued bumblebees, and the seeds are eaten by many birds.
