The Long-billed Thrasher is the South Texas counterpart of the Brown Thrasher, very similar in plumage but with a longer, more decurved bill and orange-red eyes. It is resident in the thorn scrub of the Lower Rio Grande Valley and has a rich, complex song similar to the Brown Thrasher's. It is not found north of Texas.
