The White-lipped Peccary is a larger, more social cousin of the collared peccary that travels in herds of 50 to 300 animals through tropical forests from Mexico to South America. These large herds can drive jaguars from kills and are an important seed disperser in tropical ecosystems. It barely enters North America through southern Mexico and is absent from the United States.
