Kentucky Bluegrass is a cool-season turf grass introduced from Europe that now dominates lawns and disturbed areas across most of North America. Despite being non-native, it provides seeds for many ground-feeding birds and ground-level habitat for invertebrates. Native forms do exist in Canada, but most North American populations are introduced.
