The Blue Mockingbird is a Mexican species that very rarely strays north into the United States, primarily to southern Arizona and southern Texas. The male is entirely deep slate-blue with a black mask and red eye, making it distinctive if it appears. Its rich, varied song resembles that of its close relative the Northern Mockingbird.
