Canadian Serviceberry is a native small tree or shrub of boggy woods, swamp edges, and moist forest margins along the Atlantic coast. It produces masses of white flowers in April, followed by sweet purple-red berries in June. The berries are among the most important fruits for early-summer migrating birds. It is valued as a wildlife plant and for its attractive form.
