The Eastern Forktail is one of the smallest and most common damselflies in eastern North America, found along virtually any type of standing or slow-moving water. Males have a striking green-and-blue pattern with a distinctive blue tail tip. Females occur in multiple color forms including orange, blue, and dull brown. It is often the first damselfly to colonize new ponds.
