Mountain Bog Gentian is a beautiful blue-violet wildflower of high mountain meadows and wet alpine slopes in the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies, with large upward-facing flowers that only open on warm, sunny days. Bumblebees are the primary pollinators, squeezing into the closed flower buds on cooler days. It blooms in late summer near snowfields.
