Rivoli's Hummingbird, formerly called Magnificent Hummingbird, is one of the largest hummingbirds to regularly appear in the United States, found in highland forests of southeastern Arizona and New Mexico. The male is spectacularly colored with a glittering green gorget and violet-purple crown. Its large size and dark body coloration are distinctive in the field.
