The Rose-breasted Grosbeak is a stunning bird of eastern deciduous forests — the male's bold black-and-white plumage is set off by a brilliant rose-red triangular breast patch. Both sexes sing, and the male sings even from the nest while incubating. It is a favorite at feeders in spring during migration, where it consumes sunflower seeds voraciously.
