Harebell is a delicate, nodding wildflower bearing sky-blue, bell-shaped flowers on wiry stems from 6–20 inches tall. Found across northern and montane North America, Europe, and Asia, it grows in rocky crevices, meadows, and dry slopes. It is among the most wide-ranging wildflowers in the Northern Hemisphere and blooms through summer into fall. The basal leaves are round (giving the 'rotundifolia' name) but wither early, leaving only narrow stem leaves at flowering time.

Habitat
Found on rocky slopes, meadows, cliffs, and dry open areas across northern and montane North America.
Diet
Flowers provide nectar for native bees; visited by bumblebees and mining bees.
