Culver's Root is a stately native prairie wildflower growing 3–6 feet tall with whorled leaves on elegant, upright stems topped with multiple slender spikes of tiny white to pale lavender flowers. Found in moist prairies and open woodlands across eastern and central North America, it is considered one of the most architecturally elegant native wildflowers. It blooms in midsummer and attracts an extraordinary diversity of pollinators. Named for early American physician Dr. Coulvert who promoted it medicinally.
