Thinleaf Huckleberry produces large, sweet, dark-purple to black berries that are among the finest wild fruits in North America. It is a major food source for grizzly and black bears across the Rocky Mountains and Cascades, with bears consuming tens of thousands of berries per day in peak berry years. Clark's nutcrackers and many other mountain birds also consume the berries.
