The Stripe-headed Round-eared Bat is a large-eared phyllostomid bat of tropical forests that uses passive listening rather than active echolocation to detect large insects and small vertebrates resting on foliage. It has been documented hunting sleeping lizards and frogs in addition to insects. It ranges from Mexico through Central and South America.
