The White-faced Meadowhawk is a common, medium-sized red dragonfly distinguished by its pure white face, which contrasts with the red or yellow faces of similar species. It is abundant in late summer and fall across much of North America. Like other meadowhawks, it perches on vegetation near ponds and in fields on warm autumn days.
