The Carmen Mountain Shrew is an extremely rare and little-known shrew known from only a handful of specimens collected in the Sierra del Carmen mountains of Coahuila, Mexico. It inhabits high-elevation pine-oak forests in one of the most remote mountain ranges in northern Mexico. Nothing is known about its behavior, reproduction, or exact population size.
