Oregon White Oak is the only native oak of British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest, forming savanna and woodland habitats that support exceptional biodiversity. These fire-maintained oak woodlands have declined dramatically and now support several species of concern. The acorns were a staple food for indigenous peoples of the region.
