Weeping Spruce is one of the rarest conifers in North America, found only in a few mountain ranges in northern California and southern Oregon. Its long, pendulous branchlets drape dramatically from horizontal branches, creating an unmistakably distinctive form. The small, isolated populations make it vulnerable to climate change and fire.
