The Pale Sallow is a warm straw-yellow noctuid moth with subtle brown-orange mottling and subtly scalloped wing margins. It flies in autumn when its sallow and poplar host trees shed catkins and seeds. Adults are frequent at sugar baits and ivy flowers on mild autumn evenings. Its warm coloring mimics dead leaves perfectly.
