Gervais' Beaked Whale is the most commonly stranded beaked whale in the western North Atlantic, especially in Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean. Despite its relatively frequent strandings, almost nothing is known about its behavior and ecology at sea. Males have two small, flattened teeth positioned about one-third back on the lower jaw.
