Nootka Lupine is a robust native lupine of the Pacific Coast and coastal Alaska, growing in beaches, coastal meadows, and shrubby hillsides. It is a nitrogen-fixer that plays an important role in coastal habitat succession, enriching poor soils. Bumblebees are the primary pollinators, and many coastal birds consume the seeds.
