The Storage Mite is a tiny arachnid invisible to the naked eye that infests stored grains, dried fruits, cheese, and hay, feeding on mold and organic matter. Large infestations cause 'grain itch' in workers and can trigger allergic reactions and asthma in sensitive individuals. It is one of the most economically significant stored product mites worldwide.
