The Yellow-eyed Junco is a mountain junco of Mexico and Central America that barely enters the US in the sky islands of southeastern Arizona and the Huachuca and Santa Rita Mountains. The striking yellow iris distinguishes it from all other juncos. It is a ground forager that scratches among pine needles in montane forests. It does not migrate.
