Swamp Rose-mallow is a spectacular wetland perennial producing the largest flowers of any native eastern North American wildflower—up to 12 inches across—in shades of white, pink, and red. It grows in marshes and tidal wetlands along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Specialist bees in the genus Ptilothrix are obligate foragers on this plant's pollen.
