The Wolverine is the largest terrestrial member of the weasel family, renowned for its ferocious strength relative to its size and its ability to drive bears and mountain lions off kills. Individuals maintain enormous home ranges of up to 500 square miles and travel tirelessly through deep snow. Wolverines are strongly tied to persistent snowpack for denning and food caching.
