The Lancet Clubtail is a small, common gomphid dragonfly of streams and rivers throughout the East, with yellow-and-black striping on the thorax and a modestly widened abdomen tip. It perches flat on rocks, roads, and sandy stream banks, relying on camouflage rather than flight for defense. Nymphs burrow in stream sediment for two or more years.
