The Barred Yellow is a small, bright yellow sulphur of the Southeast with a distinctive black bar along the inner hindwing margin visible below, plus variable black forewing borders above. Males are vivid yellow while females can be whitish. It produces multiple generations and is common in open disturbed habitats throughout the Gulf and Atlantic coastal plain.

Larvae: joint vetch and other legumes. Adults: nectar from small flowers
