The Pacific-slope Flycatcher is a small Empidonax of western coastal forests, distinguished from its nearly identical relative the Cordilleran Flycatcher primarily by range and slight call differences. It gives a sharp, upslurred 'pseet' call. It nests on mossy banks, cliff faces, and behind waterfalls, building bulky nests out of moss and plant fibers.
