Illustration of Caribbean Elaenia (Elaenia martinica)

The Caribbean Elaenia is a small flycatcher of the Caribbean islands that very rarely strays to the Florida Keys and Gulf Coast. It is a plain olive-green bird with a white-tipped crest that shows a white central crown stripe when raised. It is one of the least distinctive of the Caribbean flycatchers and requires careful attention to voice and head pattern.
