The Cabbage White Parasitoid is a small braconid wasp that lays eggs in mass inside caterpillars of the Imported Cabbageworm, and emerging larvae produce the white silk cocoons famously seen on paralyzed caterpillars in gardens. It is introduced from Europe along with its host and is a major natural control of cabbageworm populations. Braconid wasps collectively parasitize thousands of crop pest caterpillars.
