The Taiga Bluet is a small, blue-and-black damselfly of boreal forests and northern bogs. It is among the most cold-tolerant bluets, flying in early summer at subarctic latitudes. Males have characteristic blue-and-black abdominal patterning that distinguishes them from closely related species. It breeds in sphagnum bogs and acidic lakes.
