The Sedge Wren is a secretive wren of wet meadows and sedge bogs. Unlike the Marsh Wren, it is associated with upland wet meadows rather than cattails. It builds multiple 'dummy nests' that may deter predators. Males remarkably abandon their territory mid-season and move north to start a second family.
