White Turtlehead is a wetland wildflower whose two-lipped white flowers resemble the head of a turtle. It blooms in late summer and fall in stream corridors and wet woodlands across eastern North America. It is the exclusive larval host plant for the Baltimore checkerspot butterfly, a species dependent on this plant's survival.
