The Pecan is the largest of the native hickories and produces one of North America's most commercially valuable tree nuts. It grows naturally in bottomland forests along rivers in the south-central United States, reaching heights of 150 feet. Wild pecans are eagerly consumed by deer, wild turkeys, wood ducks, and many other wildlife species.
