Mountain Arnica is a bright yellow daisy-like wildflower of subalpine and alpine meadows across western North America. It spreads by rhizomes to form large patches on mountain meadows and roadsides. Many native bee species and butterflies visit the flowers for nectar and pollen. Arnica extracts are widely used in herbal medicine for bruise relief.
