White Fir is a tall, stately conifer native to mountain forests of the western United States, recognized by its long blue-gray needles and cylindrical cones. It grows at elevations from 3,000 to 11,000 feet and forms mixed forests with ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir. Clark's nutcrackers, chickadees, and squirrels rely on its seeds.
