The Marbled Godwit is the largest godwit in North America, a big shorebird with a long, slightly upturned, bicolored bill used to probe mudflats for invertebrates. Its overall warm brown-and-buff plumage is distinctive year-round. It has declined severely with the loss of native prairie nesting habitat.
